UPDATE 4::: 12/12/10

I haven't finished much these couple of weeks, but I do have some 3D sketches finalized. I am still trying to nail down a game engine that will work out well, but either sketch up doesn't like game engines or game engines don't like sketch up. Also, I will have a lot of parts in the next update as I will have more time to sketch. - Nerdman

:::UPDATE 4:::
New Parts:
- MSK-AR200 (Same as the 100, just longer)
- MSK-RL100 (This will be the base model for both the 100/200)

Edited Parts:
- MSK-AR100 (Fixed some minor detailing on top of the shroud)
- RJ-Jamal (Made the whole base wider and resized/adjusted the hydraulic cylinders)

Note:: I have noticed that Westwind PMC (The forum I hosted my game on as a secondary site) has gone down. I will move my posts into until they are able to get up and running again.

Chromehounds: Tribute Update 9-27

:::UPDATE::: Check lower part of the main post :::UPDATE:::
- Analase Cannon
- Sabre Sniper Cannon
- Tarakian AR (Needs to be ID'd according to the game)
- Shotgun (hexagonal, needs to be ID'd)

Sorry for the delay, minor tech issues (my renderer is being stupid (put nicely of course)). I should have another update out soon with most of the assist parts (including armor, maybe some lift fans).

Now for the fancy images (not so fancy because of my lack of a renderer for the moment)

The Official (and long might I add) release

   Unless you've seen my original post, go to are my basic ( and many ideas about the game)
IDEA 1 : Rebuild:::
    I will probably start with this then move to idea 2, or I could base the project on the original and release the beta, then I'll add an expansion to include the original tutorial missions in the final.
IDEA 2: Sequeal:::
   This would be based 20 years after the Neroimus Wars, about 2040 (something like that, still working on it). Rafzakael has stopped operations leaving mercenaries scattered throughout the region. The peace that lasted after the wars was short lived, due to imperialistic moves by all three nations. The second Neroimus War starts after Morskovian forces attack a Sal Kar Village and a Tarakian patrol receives an incorrect order and destroys a Morskovian patrol. New advances in technology allows hounds to be stronger, take more damage, but these changes are countered by even more powerful weapons.
- Unidentified Weapons (M99, MSK-X0, Ghalib) can end up on the same battlefield and are a tad more common. (still once per war)
- Experimental weapons will actually work
- In ranked matches it's possible to lose parts (up for debate)
- That stupid news feature it shows at the beginning will be accessible only through a menu.
- Some current day weapons (Railguns, guided missiles, etc. But these will be limited by extreme weight, power, and cool-down time).
- Some requested parts (TBD (to be determined))
- "Modded" parts (trade offs on certain parts; higher power for more heat, or more damage for less range and such)
- Preserves tactical feel and maybe some HUD modifications
- PC only for the time being. It's a major pain to get stuff on the Xbox.
- A website where people can share their hound set ups and download them to the game.
- New stat system for hounds and parts.
- Multiplayer (can't give many details yet, probably LAN at first, but I'll see what I can do with UDK)
- Variable weather on some maps
- Also some new multiplayer maps.
- Maps will still be basic to help out lower powered computers
- Low spec mode will be able to be used.
- A Java based utility app will be included(includes squad rankings, scores, parts that you have, also includes a builder so you can build hounds while the battle is finishing).
- Online sync for parts so cheaters can't get free parts.
- Possibly some kind of tournament that's run (maybe ever 2-3 months, to be voted)
- "Death Cam" lets you watch your allies while your dead, rather than running around with a useless assault rifle.
- Other ideas/ concepts can be requested and voted on, and any of these ideas can be voted on also.

That's about all I have for now, it will be about march when I release the final (sooner if I can get community help).

Help wanted::
- Screenshots
- 3-d models
- Voices
- Sounds
- Maps (made in UDK please)
- Ideas/ concepts
- Storyline
- Practically anything else attributed to the game.
--------------------------------------------- (great for part/ game info)  The main site for now. Secondary site for updates Yet another site I post on.
Whew.... /rant

Chromehounds is not my original idea, Sega and From Software created it. I am merely recreating it.

Update 8-26:: Notes

- This will be a PC game.
- It will be free
- online multiplayer is going to be tricky, and you might have to host all your own games(sorry, I have a 5 mbit DSL connection. )
- Any and all help is appreciated and all who help are given a lovely spot in the credits. (and maybe some special parts... o.0)
- Concept images (eye candy) and such will be released as I finish up a major thing.

Please add any ideas, comments, assets, or questions to the blog in the comments area.

Project Opened

 Hey blogger members and random guests! As very few of you know, Chromehounds was shut down in January. Well, this left mech game lovers with two series to choose from. Armoured Core or mechwarrior. I didn't like either and loved the customization and gameplay in Chromehounds. So using the UDK (unreal development kit), I plan on remaking a basic version of chromehounds then slowly upgrading models and textures until it's basically the same as the original. But I have another reason. I am searching through career options at the moment (still in high school), and videogame design is near the top of the list. So, I'm building the game from the bottom up using Chromehounds as a basis, so I can see if this is how I want to spend a portion (or all) of my life on.
A rough time frame for the game is about 4-5 months, but if anyone is willing to submit designs it would be insanely helpful.
The screenshots I used are from, exact part numbers were from, and all models involved in this were originally created by From Software and SEGA. I just used screenshots to reconstruct them.
